RISE CoE and the Cyprus Institute will collaborate on the “Othello Tower” project

The Cyprus Institute and RISE Centre of Excellence will collaborate on the “Othello Tower” project for the development of an educational game that addresses aspects of the history of the walled city of Famagusta.

Through the use of interactive technologies and game-based learning the aim is to increase awareness of and appreciation for EU-renovated sites in the historic walled city. This proposal presents phase 1, beginning with 3D documentation, immersive visualization, 360 demo video, game design and prototype of the “Othello Tower”. Extensions of the project will be presented in phase 2 and 3, at a later date, which will include the study and modelling of additional sites in the historic city of Famagusta and the development of further interactive applications for educational purposes in schools and for other site visitors.
