RISE CoE in support of the COVID-19 CY National eHealth Platform of the Ministry of Health

RISE - the Research Centre on Interactive Media, Smart Systems and Emerging Technologies - , along with other national and European funded projects, contributed to the creation of the COVID-19 CY National eHealth Platform for Inpatient and Home-monitoring and Treatment for the Ministry of Health .

The inpatient COVID-19 CY National eHealth Platform of the Ministry of Health is designed to facilitate the provision of care to hospitalized Covid-19 patients in Cyprus. The Platform’s workflow is dictated by the official Covid-19 Clinical Protocol Guidelines proposed by the Scientific Monitoring Advisory Committee and approved by the Minister of Health. It provides a detailed overview of a patient’s current clinical status and relevant health indicators that have been identified as crucial for Covid-19 patients’ treatment.

The first phase of the system focuses on the clinical monitoring and management of hospitalized COVID-19 patients and was deployed in early May, , at the public hospitals of Ammochostos, Larnaca, Limassol and Pafos. The second phase focuses on the monitoring and the care provision to out-patients .

Two multidisciplinary groups at RISE, namely the Smart, Ubiquitous and Participatory Technologies for Healthcare Innovation (SUPTHI) and the Immersive Technologies for Intelligent and Creative Applications (ITICA) are amongst the collaborating partners for the development of this system. More details can be found here.
