Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Canvas, Internal Workshop

On Thursday 21st November RISE and UCL presented an internal workshop exploring the interaction between academic research and industry.  The second from a series of internal workshops designed to further enhance the Innovation Readiness Capability or RISE’s researchers.

In this workshop, it was stressed that for a truly collaborative approach to research, enabling applied study that can lead to socio-economic impact, industrial and external interactions must occur throughout the life-cycle of research. This workshop provided attendees with the toolkit and knowledge to start developing their own engagement activities and identify priority organizations to target.

I really liked learning about the Partnership Canvas tool, which helped us sketch out ideas about a potential partnership and guided us through the procedures to make that a reality through RISE’s internal structure. It was really helpful to get feedback on a specific partnership idea for our MRG as well.
Pinar Barlas, Research Associate (TAG MRG)

It was enjoyable to deliver the training and see how actively all the participants engaged with the training. There is a real enthusiasm to understand how researchers can engage better with industry and external audiences and identify the opportunities and topics to enable this.

Manager of the UCL Institute of Communications and Connected Systems and Innovation advisor to the RISE project
