Three RISE members in the list of the Top Rated University Professors for Impact in Computer Science and Electronics for 2020 according to Guide2Research

The Research centre on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies – RISE Centre of Excellence (CoE) is pleased to announce that three members and collaborators of the CoE are included in Guide2Research's (a leading research portal for computer science) latest rankings report of top scientists for 2020 in the subjects of Computer Science and Electronics.

Warmest congratulations to University of Cyprus Professor Constantinos S. Pattichis (RISE Research Group leader) ranked 2nd in Cyprus; University College London Professor Anthony Steed (RISE Board of Directors member) ranked 137th in UK and Max Planck Professor Hans-Peter Seidel (RISE collaborator) ranked 6th in Germany who were amongst the 6,000 scientist profiles analyzed in this year’s Guide2Research ranking edition.

Each position on the list was based on their h-index number, meaning, the number of Google citations and the number of publications in the Digital Bibliography & Library Project (DBLP), a bibliographic online collection of scientific publications in computer science. Only those with an H-index >= 40 were shortlisted for the report.

The ranking aims to introduce the leaders in the field of computer science to the academic community and provide more exposure to the contributions of these influential scientists. As Professor Imed Bouchrika, computer scientist and the lead author of the Guide2Research report mentioned, “The recognition and acknowledgment of contributions made by leading scientists devoting tremendous efforts to disseminate their knowledge are pivotal to the advancement of science and prosperity in our world as a better place,”.

The current research focus of Prof. Constantinos S. Pattichis and the Smart, Ubiquitous and Participatory Technologies for Healthcare Innovation Research Group he is leading at RISE is in the field of smart, citizen-centred eHealth and mHealth interventions, which can be achieved by leveraging mixed reality technologies, edge computing diagnostics, and big healthcare data analytics, underpinning P4 medicine (predictive, preventive, personalised and participatory). As Prof. Pattichis explained, their work will enable, drive, and accelerate the development, translation, and application of advanced healthcare delivery systems into everyday life and into clinical practice towards improved disease monitoring, management and treatment, enabling precision and preventive healthcare services and well-being at reduced cost.

With the contribution of such high caliber researchers, RISE strives towards achieving its mission, to undertake world-class research within Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies in order to drive innovation across multiple industrial sectors and creating social and economic benefit.
