A team of CYENS staff members visited London on May 15th, 2023, including the General Director, Prof. Yiorgos Chrysanthou, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CYENS and Mayor of Nicosia, Mr. Constantinos Yiorkadjis, Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Olga Shvarova, Co-working and Community Officer Ms. Shaziye Mehmet, Executive Assistant Ms. Artemis Kasapi, and HR Manager Ms. Eleni Papanikolaou.

The purpose of the trip was to engage with UK-based individuals within the Turkish Cypriot communities and present unique employment opportunities offered by the Centre, as well as to explore potential collaborations with students, academics and industry professionals who share a passion for innovation, research, and technology.

During the visit, two events had been scheduled. The first event was an afternoon reception aimed at engaging UK-based TC students who have a keen interest in getting involved in research projects and groups. For the second event, CYENS hosted a dinner to facilitate networking and interaction with academics and industry professionals, presenting the Centre's availability to anyone interested in working with CYENS and potentially relocating.

The visit was part of CYENS’ objective to develop collaborative practices and efforts to reinvent synergic ways of working and building community.

Both events took place at the prestigious Pall Mall venue in London and were very successful in generating interest. This visit is a testament to the Centre’s commitment to excellent research practices and to exploring innovative solutions and fostering collaborations that drive progress and positive change. At the same time, CYENS highlights its growing reputation in the region and wider ecosystem.
