AgriFoodTech 2019 - Technological innovations determine the future of Agri & Food

During the AgriFoodTech conference everything revolves around new technology for the Agri & Food sector. Think of: sensors, drones, robots, big data, vision, LED lighting, system design & integration, automation, packaging, IT and food technology. The innovations within Agri and Food are developing rapidly. All with one goal: to anticipate on the world’s need for food, address scarcity and respond to the changing food chain.

AgriFoodTech is the platform where High Tech & ICT innovations for more efficient, effective, sustainable or even different production in the food industry, agriculture and (glass) horticulture are central.

RISE SuPerWorld MRG Leader, Dr. Andreas Kamilaris presented a paper titled “Transferring manure from livestock farms to be used as fertilizer in crop fields” on the 12th of December as part of the Workshop on Agricultural Robotics – Program within the AgriFoodTech 2019 conference. The idea is that if manure is used as organic fertilizer in crop fields, then nitrogen does not end up polluting the soils and waters nearby livestock farms causing pollution and contamination.
