News / News / WEB4CITY – WEB FOR SMART CITIES INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP
21 October. 2019

Web4City workshop aims to keep on attracting a significant international attention with regard to web intelligence for smart cities.

In the era of cities and under the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable growth, cities are making an important shift towards compact design and rapid adaptive response against changing requirements, citizen behavior or crises. Typical issues like parking, traffic congestion and safety, sharing transportation and smart parking are among the topics where intelligence affects smart services, while data collection and analysis enable fast –or even real-time- decision-making.

On Monday, October 14, 2019, RISE actively participated through the Invited talk on Predicting Parking Occupancy via Machine Learning in the Web of Thingsby Andreas Kamilaris, team leader of the SuPerWorld:Pervasive Real-World Computing for Sustainability.
