ARS Electronica Animation Festival on Tour
29.02.2020, 17:00 Pallas Theatre

RISE CoE, the Austrian Embassy and the Nicosia Municipality are happy to present the acclaimed ARS Electronica Animation Festival on Tour 2019 on 29th February, at 17:00 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia. Admission is free.

Ms Manuela Naveau (PhD), Head of Ars Electronica Export, will briefly present the Festival, ARS Electronica and its activities. The evening will include a screening of a selection of the works submitted to the Festival and a wine reception offered by the Austrian Embassy in the foyer of the theatre. For registration and the detailed program visit https://arselectronicatourcy.eventbrite.co.uk

The ARS Electronica Animation Festival on Tour presents the annual best-of programme - a compilation of outstanding works chosen from 835 projects submitted in 2019 for the Prix ARS Electronica.

The two programs of the 2019 ARS Electronica Animation Festival are yet again an international showcase of excellence in current digital filmmaking. This compilation presents innovative trajectories within digital storytelling, expanded narration as well as current cinematography at the intersection of art and science and brings together works with contemporary positions - from computer-generated procedural structures to trailblazing examples of frame-by-frame animated sequences.

This event has been made possible through the collaboration between the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and the ARS Electronica Animation Festival.

RISE is the Research Centre of Excellence in Cyprus focusing on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies aiming at empowering knowledge and technology transfer in the region. It is a joint venture between the three public universities of Cyprus - University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology and Open University of Cyprus - , the Municipality of Nicosia and two renowned international partners - the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Germany, and the University College London, United Kingdom.

The festival is curated by Juergen Hagler.
