Best practices of pedagogical chatbots in higher education (EDUBOTS)

Chatbots have the potential of tackling challenges, such as the difficulty of educators to promote formative assessment in their classes, as well students’ need for receiving personalized feedback to increase their learning. Even though chatbots appear in several applications the last decade, their implementation in higher education is still in its infancy. The main reason is the lack of knowledge in how to implement and train the chatbots for specific scenarios in higher education. The project aims to document best practices for the use of chatbots in higher education.

Current state of the art will be defined and pilot pedagogical chatbots for education at partner and other invited universities will be planned and implemented. Digital learning communities (cMOOCs) will be set up and a knowledge sharing culture among educators will be targeted, so as to motivate the implementation of pedagogical chatbots for improving the quality of education in Europe.
